EMEU at a TCA event in Prag The Czech National Agency DZS hosted a thematic seminar focused on European Internationalisation strategy (EIS). Participants from 12 members states got together to share experiences, examples and recommendations. During the workshops EMEU was presented as an example of good practise of strategic internationalisation. Especially the equalizing effect of integrating learners in hosting classes got positive responses from the participants.

Construction team meeting in Bilbao

Member of the different colleges met at Construccion Bizkaia to work on different subjects of the network We worked on the new Modules to be offered, explained the experiences of this course, solved doubts and made suggestions in order to improve the quality of the modules. We visited the workshops at the school, talked with the teachers and visit one building site. It was a very productive meeting.

Busy two weeks in the EMEU network

EMEU teams and steering groups are meeting in Spain These are busy weeks in the EMEU network, showing that what started out in 2014 as a KA2 ERASMUS+ project has now consolidated into a stable and growing network of 15 partners. On Monday the 14 May the sterring group of the founding Engineering partners meet at Construcion Bizkaia in Bilbao. Only one partner was unable to be represented in the meeting, which shows a high commitment to the cooperation. Work life and MBO Rijnland (NL) visiting Hyria (FIN)

On April 9-10 Hyria received visitors from Gouda, the Netherlands. 5 participants came from MBO Rijnland. 2 from day care center Quadrant Kindercentra, and two from social organisation called Gemiva-SVG Groep. In addition to the EMEU project activities (study modules, virtual activities), which we are creating together with European partners, also meetings-in-between are highly appreciated to increase the communication regarding the project activities as well as to bring the industry more involved into the cooperation. Already in the planning phase all partners were supposed to involve at least two organisations from industry to plan, and to implement the project activities together with the college teachers and staff. Study module experience at Hyria, Finland

Hyria’s first study module is called “Health and well-being of children (under 7 years old)” At Hyria, we have had a very intensive 5 month long EMEU project activity period. During this time we have implemented our first virtual activity and study module. The second virtual activity is currently is in the process of implementation, as well as the second study module is planned to be implemented in autumn 2018. I has been great time, but also demanding. We have learned many new things, both students and teachers. These activities are challenging ourselves, and that is really good. 40 Study Modules accessible for students of different vocational backgrounds, levels and study areas. Today the EMEU4ALL partnernetwork has made a big step towards achieving one of its main goals. After a year of hard work, intensive communication and goodwill, all partners have produced and offered their share of Study Modules. Now a total of 40 Modules are open for students of different vocational backgrounds, levels and study areas. An amazing feat which will give large numbers of EU students an opportunity to study part of their education in different EU partner countries. Bathcollege in Gouda

Side effect of emeu4all As a result of the cooperation between Bath college and MboRijnland about thirty students and their teachers of Bathcollege visited Gouda. In the morning the English childcare students joined three different workshops together with the Dutch childcare and teachingassistent students. The content of the workshops was “speaking English”, “baby care”, “cultural differences and stereotypes”. In the afternoon the Dutch and English students joined a scavenger hunt in Gouda. Students had to carry out different tasks in the city center. Hyria meets workfield in Gouda After a meeting of the social care team (Horizoncollege, Hyria, MboRijnland) in Gouda (the Netherlands), the Finnish delegation visited the organisations that take part in the emeu4all project. Quadrant Kinderopvang (childcare) and Gemiva-svg (disabled care) offer placements for students who follow the study modules that are written by MboRijnland. As a result of this visit MboRijnland organised an Erasmusprogram in which 5 teachers and 4 employers of Quadrant and Gemiva will Hyvinkaa (Hyria). The program (april 2018) will focus on vocational education and visits to different kind of childcare and disabled care settings in Finland. Study modules in IES Zubiri-Manteo BHI

Study modules in IES Zubiri-Manteo BHI Seven students of Bridgewater & Taunton college and Horizon college took part in two study modules in Donostia. They experienced many differences between the spanish and they countries culture. Apart of the lessons we did more than one excursion. The first one to Sevatour (Esme, Abi and Leah appeared in local newspaper) and the second one a walk around Donostia guided by tourism students. Nice first experience for our college and also for them!

Finland experience in Hyvinkaa

“Sign in: a great study module” Two students of MboRijnland and Horizon college took part in the study module “ Health and well-being of children at Hyria college in Hyvinkaa, Finland. Kim and Ramona, two childcare students of MboRijnland will never forget this experience. In the evaluation with their Dutch tutor they told that the contribution and impact  to their professional growth is very valuable. They experienced many differences between the Dutch and Finnish childcare system.  In the lessons about Nutrition they noticed that the teachers and students discuss a lot about the subjects and that there is not as much variety in the lessons as in the Netherlands.  Ramona
