Urban Landscaping Technician crossover pilots

Basque and Danish students worked on an automated green wall solution

Automation and Industrial Robotics and Industrial Mechatronics students from Armeria Eskola (Eibar,  Basque Country) and Gardening and Landscaping studentsfrom Green Academy (Aarhus, Denmark) worked on an automated vertical garden prototype merging horticulture and technology.

In Denmark, at the Green Academy school, students first learnt about the characteristics and needs of plants and gardens and how to incorporate them into the community. After that, at Armeria Eskola, they focused mainly on technology – pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors and programming.

They also dealt with a variety of transversal topics, including biodiversity, green urban planning or sustainable development.

Both modules were a success and what students most valued was getting to know a new country, making new friends, developing a solution that can be used in real life, learning about different work fields and improving the English communication skills.
