Minutes EMEU4CROSSOVERS meeting 4 March 2021

Present: Flemming, AarhusTech, Aino (Gradia), Mervi (Sakky), Guus (mboRijnland), Ruben (UNI Eibar) Unai (Almeriaskola), Alda and Frans (Horizon College)

1 Welcome (Flemming)

2 Contrary to previous EMEU projects it is not possible to organize a physical pre-project submission meeting. As an alternative we aim to organize an online meeting for the involved SG members, a representative from each team. The aim is to explain the project in full detail in accordance with the Call 2021 KA2 criteria which we will know by the end of March 2021, and to answer any questions partners may have at this preparatory stage.

ACTION: Provisional date in April 2021 to be set asap. (Flemming) Current project application to be sent to all partners (Flemming) 3 Guidelines for Virtual Activities (VAs). We discussed ideas for the contents of the VAs and came to the provisional conclusion that a VA should consist of 3 stages: 1. Introduction of yourself, your village, town or city, hobbies etc.

2. Introduction of your school, your education, etc. Ad 1 & 2: in this activity whole classes or groups of students can be involved.

3. Preparatory activities for the physical study module abroadAd 3: this activity should be geared predominantly towards the needs of the students going abroad for a crossover study module. Tip: The other students in the class or group could do a regular study module and or work placement abroad.

ACTION: We agreed all project partners should give this topic some more thoughts and any suggestions or alternatives will be discussed at the next meeting. Please bear in mind that during the project the results of activities will be monitored and feedback is demanded. Hence, the more uniform in structure these activities are, the easier it is to create a format for activity and feedback (All partners)

4 After the 18th April 2021 all details of the Call 2021 KA project criteria will be known disseminated to all partners. (Flemming/Frans)

5 Horizon College teams Health Care, Marketing and Sports have lost their current partner. We are in urgent need of a partner who can offer: SPORTS & HEALTH CARE, SPORTS or HEALTH CARE teams.

ACTION: Enquire within your internal and/or external partner networks and let us know asap! (All partners)

6 It’s vital the EMEU network has a president and a vice-president. We now have two vice-presidents, Frans and Jon. Due to current circumstances we have decided to release Jon from his tasks as a vice-president until the situation as to working with European partners has been made clear. Jon knows that Bridgwater and Taunton will always be welcome to participate in the network Frans is officially retiring around 1 October 2021. He is willing to provide support to Flemming with regards to the running of the E4C project as a consultant, but preferably no longer than 1 year after the start of the 3-year project. By that time we sincerely hope that other network partners have come to the fore to take over Frans’ job as a vice-president (with all the perks of the job, naturally!)

ACTION: Discuss at your college the importance of increasing your knowledge of European networks, projects etc. At the meeting in April 2021 we will ask you whether you’re willing to take this task upon yourself. (All partners) Frans, Flemming and Mervi will make an appointment about Mervi’s availability for co-managing the EMEU4crossover project.

7 Frans calls upon all partners that are either thinking of submitting projects in future calls and/or of participating as project partners, to please inform the EMEU partners if you or other project-managers are looking for ambitious partners! (NB: After the meeting Mervi sent around two initiatives as an example of the request above. We urge all partners to do the same for the benefit of the EMEU network, but perhaps more importantly, for the benefit of your own college. After all, more projects may possibly mean more opportunities for other educations within your college to gain international experience.).

8 Ending on a happy note: although we cannot host a full conference, Frans hopes that by October 2021 Horizon College will be able to organize a smaller physical meeting for Steering Group members only at Horizon College.
