EMEU4C Transnational Project Meeting in Kuopio, Finland

Partners made progress in the development of the crossover modules

What skills and competences do vocational education students need to successfully complete a crossover study module involving a completely  different speciality from theirs? What activities and materials should teachers design for students from different fields who work together for two or three weeks in an international team?

These are the two trigger questions more than 40 teachers tried to unravel during the second transnational project meeting, which took place on the 24th and 25th of November in the newly built facilitites at Sakky Campus, in Kuopio, Finland. Teachers worked on the contents of the two study modules to be developed, virtual and face-to-face activitites to be carried out, and pedagogic materials such as students’ and teachers’ manuals.

During the first meeting day, Kati Lundren, expert from Sakky presented the sustainability strategy at the campus, and explained how the topic has been integrated into teaching and daily activities in the last years. As well as that, teachers had also had the opportunity to visit the following areas of Savo Vocational College: Business Administration, ICT, Physical Education, Electricity and Robotics.
Many thanks to Päivi Vestala, our host who kindly and thoroughly arranged every detail of our transnational project meeting!
