European cooperation by programming Cobots in collaboration
As part of the EMEU (Engineering Mobility in Europe) project, the Vocational School for Metal – Design – Mechatronics / BS MDM in Munich hosted a brand new module in the field of automation/ electrical engineering (AEE) dedicated to Cobots programming in November 2021.
German hosts were extremely happy to welcome foreign students again after times of lockdown, Online schooling and virtual projects. Eight students from Spain, Slovakia and Holland met with eight German apprentices from dual companies, such as Yaskawa, MAN, MTU and SWM.
y hosting the students, Munich VET school also welcomed ten teachers from Armeria Eskola, Spain, ROC Horizon College, Netherlands and Stredná priemyselná škola technická, Slovakia.
In teams of two students (one international student twinned with one German student) programmed different applications for pick and place, welding, glueing or pallatizing. Tricky task such as troubleshooting and bringing a Cobot’s systems into service.
The two weeks teaching program was loosened up by company visits, cultural visits such as the German museum and some sights within the boundaries of the city of Munich. All of the very eager participants were very content with the week’s outcome and their newly gained knowledge about these robots – holding proudly their course certificate in their hands.
ccording to Christina Murphy, European coordinator, it was “A great pleasure for us having such a friendly and enthusiastic group in our house!”
