EMEU. Minutes from the SG meting 4th of March 2021

Meeting minutes 4 March 2021

Participants: Jaana, Gregorio, Tanja, Malin, Angelika, Frans, Carmen, Alina, Ruben, Unai, Alda, Carmen, Guus, Flemming.

Minutes:

• Quick round: Any changes in the current situation at your college since last meeting? Some discussion about the current situation:

o Finland: new restrictions apply starting. Gradia will ban the mobility activities at least till August. Pretty sceptical about the mobility. Virtual mobility can be proceeded as planned, at least Aino hopes so.

o Denmark: opens a little bit. 1-4 glass pupils have started the school. Students have to be tested twice a week.

o Fire at Bridgwater and Taunton College (Jon).

o Frans and Flemming had a meeting with Jon. Jon is being a Covid-19 coordinator of his college. They are testing for all their students. Proposed that he would withdraw from the EMEU activity for the busiest time, but is warmly welcomed back at any time. Vice president post is opening.

o Frans and Flemming had a meeting with Carole and Mala from AC Lille. Carole surveyed total of 142 schools of which 30 schools answered regarding the interest to EMEU. Suggested that we would start first with one school. Carole will be in contact with the 30 colleges again, looking for internationally active and flexible potential partners schools among those. If they meet the EMEU criteria, the co-operation will be considered. Many fields available. First interest is to increase the number of partners in VET teams. First priority for those teams, that have e.g. only one partner.

o Frans and Flemming will have a meeting with these colleges (30). Is there any other vocational area that we would be interested in? Carole will invite the interested colleges to meet with Frans and Flemming. They will be introduced the concept of EMEU. Increase of number of partners would improve the sustainability (if more members in the teams).

• VA – meeting last week (Jaana, Ruben and Flemming) (To be put on NEWS)o Jaana, Ruben, Carmen and Flemming had a meeting about Virtual activities. They discussed what virtual activities are running in the spring, and about compiling some examples of how virtual activities could be done. This could be presented in the next meeting in April. o It was agreed that a new template or alterations for the existing template (on web page) will not be done. The template issue was previously suggested for the purpose of implementing a study module fully online. It seems that ICT is the only one offering the entire study module virtually (in May), and they should agree the enrolment within their team. Similarly, it was suggested that possible alterations to the module description are done internally, not publicly on the web pages. But if the situation continues like this for long, the issue will be re-assessed.

o Alina has been active in posting news (4 in February) in news section on web pages. Great Alina 🌹!

o It was reminded that it is important to post the implemented virtual activities also on news section. There will be some VA’s taking place in March, too.

o Alda told having 26 people participating for int’l coffee break so far. She participated the first coffee break and told that to be eye opening experience. It remained rather simple, which was good for easy access to the activity. Alda was encouraged to write something about int’l coffee breaks to news section.

o MBO Rijnland has been active in implementing virtual activities outside the network also. o Alda also told about the funded project regarding civic education. Together with Christina (Germany) they start the project activities virtually with students (11). It is about World citizenship, European citizenship, and making students aware of those. Alda welcomes other colleges if interested, and promised to send some more information to Hyria and Aarhus.

o Alda promised to write a news article also about an activity in which Spanish students are programming the robot arm on distance.

• Erasmus+ Call 2021 o The call will be published in March. Frans suggested to share information on projects that member colleges are participating, and to consider EMEU partners to join them also.

o Jaana told that they will apply funding for one related to internationalisation at home and one sustainable development (green vet net). The coordinator Mervi has idea papers available. o It was also discussed about possible restrictions regarding the number of KA2 in the colleges, and stated that the applications or participations of KA2 projects should always be based on the needs. It was also mentioned that the number of KA2 project applications raises enormously, and it is challenging to get funding.

• Study Modules Autumn 2021 (Physical) – What is the possibilities at you college? Can you tell anything at the moment? (All) o Frans encouraged the colleges who have a possibility to offer the study modules in autumn 2021 to publish those on web pages. But if the situation does not allow those to be implemented, those will be cancelled. o Frans was currently expecting his colleagues to inform their plans to him.

o Flemming’s colleagues find it difficult to look at so far, and occupied currently. o Ruben told them to offer modules only in spring 2022.

o Gregorio has no information yet.

o The matter will be discussed further when more information about the vaccinations and virus mutations are available.
